What is Platforms Project?
Platforms project is an independent art fair whose objective is to map artistic action as it is produced in the context of collective initiatives by artists who decide to join forces in seeking answers to artistic questions, in the form of the so-called platforms.
This year it is hosted in Technopolis City of Athens. Artistic platforms will be exhibited both indoors and outdoors in the post-modern industrial venue.
Nepenthe's Platform
Nepenthe’s addition to this independent art fair is a musical journey exploring the evolution of the dance music in Greece’s scene through the artists/DJs – who have shaped it from the 80s to today. A different interactive experience every day, even giving the audience the chance to be a DJ for a day!
"Journey through time" | Thursday 26/10
Nepenthe pays homage to the golden era of dancehall, featuring 3 old-school DJs as special guests.
Our special guests are Nicola Lavacca, George Klokouzas, and John Evangelatos all of whom helped shape the dance scene of Greece from the 80’s to today. They will be spinning classic tunes from the late 70s to the 90s and following their performance they will share their unique perspectives on the evolution of dance music throughout the years.
George Klokouzas
George grew up in Piraeus in the 60s and began his music career being a DJ at the age of 18 spinning blues and ballads, a glorious moment of the nightlife at the time. His career began then and it has become his profession ever since. He has entertained multiple generations from the 80s to today with multiple genres of music from Disco, Funk, and Rock to Rap, House, and Techno.
George Klokouzas
George grew up in Piraeus in the 60s and began his music career being a DJ at the age of 18 spinning blues and ballads, a glorious moment of the nightlife at the time. His career began then and it has become his profession ever since. Nicola Lavacca
Nicola’s DJ career spans over Italy, Greece and USA, being a resident DJ of clubs in Milan (Divina), Rome (Mais), Athens (Aytokinisi) and New York (Ledra Marriott Club). His musical career also includes being a director at C.B.S (SONY), hosting radio shows, compiling music for companies like Compact Disk Club and a music supervisor of multiple TV programmes such as the greek beauty pageant of 2000.

John Evangelatos
John’s music journey began at the early age of 15 as he held his own radio band, broadcasting music. During the 80’s and the 90’s at the age of 18 he began his DJ career at local clubs in Athens with Disco, Jazz and Soul influences. His residencies included Agora Center, Casagrande, Kalua and Pritaneio. These led him to the biggest step in his career, a residency at Koo Club in Santorini from the 90’s to today.

Nepenthe gives the stage to two young up-and-coming DJs of today’s dance scene. Our special guests are Stella VI (Stella Afentaki) and Xago
(Vangelis Xagoraris). After their performances, they will talk to us about their unique perspective of what it is being a DJ today.

Stella VI
Born and raised in the island of Tinos, Stella grew up playing the piano and exploring the musical scene and all its aspects. She chose to study in a drama school in Athens so she could learn more about classical music, the theory and the musical arts. Stella has been working as a DJ since she was 17 years old and claims that tech house music with eastern and Afro elements suits her personality the best. She started her career in the islands of Tinos and Syros and made her way through Athens. Kobra, Knave, Tragos, Catch (Santorini) are some of her most notable performances..
Stella VI

Xago
Xago is an Athenian up-and-coming artist. Although self-taught, he is studying electronic music to lay the foundation for his professional ambitions. He likes minimal house music and he is ready to get us dancing with his unique grooves and energy.
He is also the resident DJ of Sensory Production.

Experience what it feels like to be a DJ for a day! Explore the fundamentals of DJing in an enjoyable and welcoming setting. No prior experience is required. All you need is the enthusiasm to give it a try! The workshop is conducted by Nepenthe’s core team which will also be available for any Q&A.
